The Paul Hayes Award

The Members of the Civic Debate Consortium recognize the essential contributions of Paul Hayes to the establishment of Civic Debate as a set of practices, events, and scholarship offering alternative pedagogies to traditional academic debate formats. This award recognizes the work and innovation of Paul Hayes in engaging student debaters in community and social issues leading to meaningful change with the first Award for Service, to continue in his name.

The Civic Debate Impact Award

Awarded to a program for innovation, pedagogical development, and/or engagement that furthers the mission of the Civic Debate Consortium.
